		<description>This post is 100% True. I had everything stolen while I was there in March 2008. It was a huge hassle to get a new passport at the embassy. And the police in La Uruca are nice but they don't speak any english.
It was a scarey experience.

Also, My husband is a tico. He always tells me that Costa Rica is not the same as the United States. He won't let me even talk on a cell phone on the bus or walking in Downtown San Jose or in the mall. He said they look for americans. So this Post is awesome.   

One thing.... Avoid walking in San Jose after 8pm. ALot of street people are out after that time and you are more of a target for violence.</description>
